Birchbox July 2014

Hey everyone!

I got my birchbox a few days ago and i'm actually quite pleased with the items they picked for me this month.

I got:

  • Benefit Posie Balm
  • Real Chemistry 3 minute peel
  • Beauty Protector Hair Mask
  • Ruffian polish in rosary
  • Ruffian nail polish wipe

Benefit Posie Balm

Posie balm is one of benefit's new tinted lip balm that are colored after the corresponding lip and cheek stains. I thought it was odd they chose to sample posie balm which is the sheerest of the bunch. Also, with the recent release of lollitint, it would have been nice to promote both products. Either way, the packaging of the product is adorable, though you hardly get any product.
Real Chemistry Luminous 3 minute peel

This product is supposed to help to peel/exfloliate out the outer layer of your skin. Long term, this should help to keep your skin looking fresh, with dark spots and discoloration lessened. I think this is a great product to try out since I do have some acne scars and discoloration, but I don't think that this size will allow me to test out the claim.

Ruffian polish in Rosary

This polish is a gorgeous rose gold shade with one of the most adorable packaging i've seen in a while. The bottle retails for $11 on Birchbox.com. The formula is quite good, but for only .17 oz of product, I think its a bit overpriced.

Beauty Protector Mask

This hair mask is from the line that produced the leave in detangler that became a birchbox best seller. Like the leave in, the mask also has a sugary scent that is quite similar to the pink sugar fragrance from aqualina. I thought it was a nice touch to include two jars of the mask. Each jar contains .5 oz of product, which was barely enough to coat my hair. Unfortunately, I did not care for the mask too much. My hair felt dryer than when I use my normal conditioner.

Ruffian Nail Remover towelette

One extra birchbox incuded this month was a towelette of Ruffian's nail polish remover. I have not gotten to try this one yet, but I like keeping towelettes or mitts like this one in my purse if I ever want to remove my polish while on the go. I probably wouldn't repurchase it though.
What do you think of my box?
