Lately, I've been in this in between phase where it isn't quite spring and winter isn't yet over. My nails have been extremely brittle and dry over the past month or so, and because of this, I have avoided putting any color, but just reapplying Nailtiques formula 1.
The first color I finally chose to apply was Butter London's Yummy Mummy. It is a beautiful purple based nude shade. It definitely comes off more purple in the picture than in real life. . One of my absolute favorite shades from the line is All Hail The Queen. It is much more purple and has more visible shimmer than Yummy Mummy. This shade is now my official go-to professional looking polish shade.
I applied a thin coat of my Essie protein base, then followed with two coats of this polish, and then two thin coats of my SecheVite top coat. On a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being extremely opaque, this polish was about a 4.5. I did feel like a single coat could have sufficed, but my nails were still in rough shape, so a second coat was needed. It lasted 4 days with few chips just at the tips of my nails, probably from dishwashing and excessive typing.
I definitely suggest the Butter London formula if you want something that would chip minimally and will look gorgeous on anyone.
