Behind the look: Summer go-to edition

Hey everyone! I decided a few days ago that I would change up the blog a bit, and one of those changes are to include different content. Typically, i stick to things like reviews, hauls and beauty boxes. I want to make this blog a little more well-rounded, so here's something completely different. Hope you enjoy!

For my go-to summer look, I normally lean towards a neutral eye with a bold lip! Here's how I did it step by step with all the products and brushes.

I always start with my eyes, move on to face, add blush, bronzer & highlighter. And then return to eyes.

Step 1:  Eyes-- I first started by priming my lids with my favorite eyelid primer, Urban Decay's Primer Potion in the original version. Then used 3 shades out of Kat Von D's Ludwig palette. First with the second to last shade on the left, I used my elf shadow brush and applied the shade all over the lid. Next with my Mac #275 brush, I applied the matte brown, the last shade on the left side. I applied this to the outer third of the lid. I then went with the matte black and applied a bit of this on top of the matte brown to give the look a little more depth. Next I took my London Soho blending brush and blended this all out! I added the extra black because after blending, the brown wouldn't be enough contrast in my opinion. after, I cleaned up all the fallout under my eyes.

Step 2: Face-- Prior to appling my eye makeup, I had applied some embryolisse moisturizer, so I started this part with primer. I used Stila's one step illuminate which primes my skin, then gives it a glowy effect with some shimmer. Then I moved on to foundation. I used Benefit's hello flawless oxygen wow in the shade toasted beige. I pumped some on my hand and using an elf foundation brush, I applied some product on to my face and did some quick patting it. Then I came in with my real techniques expert face brush and blended my foundation out. I find that less product will get picked up by the RT brush if it is just used for blending. After foundation, I used the Dermablend quick fix concealer in tan and applied it to my under eye area. I used my real techniques foundation brush to blend it in. Then I set my whole face with my elf kabuki and the rimmel stay matte in translucent and then specifically set my concealer with the real techniques setting brush.
Step 3: Color products---First I bronzed up my face using the the hotel heiress bronzer and my bitten up Sonia Kashuk stippling brush. Then with my favorite Tarte blush brush, I applied some of the new Thebalm instain blush in the shade Toile. (This sucker is very pigmented!) Lastly, I followed with the Girl meets pearl highlighter with my Sephora I.T. stippling brush.
Step 4: Mascara and brows-- After my face, I returned to my eye area and curled my lashes with my favorite Sonia Kashuk curler, and applied a coat of Tarte's lights camera flashes. Then I moved on to my brows and used some clear brow gel from Chella and my Mac brow spoolie.

Step 5: Lips-- In the summer, I crave bright pink lips fairly often, so this Laqa&Co lippie in Pinkman is perfect! I started with some lipbalm, my sugar rose lip treatment, and then applied the lipstick. Then I topped it with some Buxon gloss in white russian.
Step 6: Hair--- Starting with towel-dried hair, I sprayed some colour goddess leave in conditioner and brushed it out. Then I applied some healthy sexy hair soy renewal oil to my mid shaft and ends. The  anything left was used to smooth out frizz. I've been trying to use as little heat as possible, so these products are a must to keep my hair manageable and healthy.
That's the final look! What do you think?

Heres a close up on the lipstick! The gloss just slightly tones down the brightness of the lipstick, making it wearable for an everyday look.  I forgot to take a close up on the eyes. I promise I will next time!

Sephora Haul

I stopped into Sephora the other day to pick up a few things.

1. Naked Palette- I know this is way overdue, but I finally got the Naked palette! I havent been too into Urban Decay products. I never thought that their stuff was that great, so I was pretty reluctant to get a naked palette. But since i have been obsessed with neutrals lately, I thought it was about time I caved. The colors are gorgeous, especially sidecar and half-baked. I also though it was great because it came with a travel-sized primer potion and a full sized shadow brush instead of the double ended eyeliner I probably will never use. Great value and I will probably stop by and pick up naked2 on my next paycheck.
2. Kat Von D Pigments- I picked up these pigments because they were on sale, instead of the $16-18, they were on sale for $8, so I picked up the two colors they had left. I noticed that the only colors on sale were the ones that weren't on sephora.com, so they probably were instructed to get rid of them. It doesnt matter to me, the colors are great, a nice olive green called Torment and a pretty rose gold color called Rooftop. They are great because they have a metallic finish, so it really pops on your eyes.
3. Sephora Eyeshadow-i got this shadow in the color #47 She Sparkles. The color is a pretty goldish yellow. Ive been looking for a deep gold, and this isnt it, but its not too bad. much more on the yellow side, but I will still get some use out of it. The reason why I picked it up was because it was sitting next to the pigments for $5, so I couldn't resist,
4.Urban Decay De-slick- This spray was free, part of the 100 point perk on display. I picked it up because it looked like a decent sized perk, plus the same size was on sale for $12 as a impluse buy at the register, so I had around 500 points, and thought I should cash some in for this. I like this spray. Probably will repurchase this, so lookout for this in a haul pretty soon. If I get it would probably be the 6oz size, because its $5 more, and 1.5x bigger. It held my makeup allday and kept it matte. Plus the size was perfect to throw in my bag for a touchup spray. Didn't even need to blot. and if I get the full sized, I would probably just refill this one and keep it in my bag.

Fragrance Friday

First Fragrance Friday!

So it’s Friday, and I think I will try to do a post every Friday highlighting my favorite perfume of the week. My current favorite is Saint by Kat Von D. The smell is delicate, a mix of plum and vanilla. A sweet smell, so if you aren’t into sweet scents, it probably isn’t for you. I’m addicted to sweet scents, since pink sugar, so this was more of a grown-up version of that scent that I could use. When you first put that scent on, it smells strongly of plum and fruitiness. Then after an hour or so, switches to a nicer vanilla caramel based scent that is very warm and inviting. The scent ends similarly with a nice jasmine floral finish that is sweetened by the remnants of the vanilla. Overall, it’s a great scent and has been a favorite for quite a while. The packaging of the bottle is quite cute, a white and then clear bottle with the cutest top.  Overall, the fragrance is delightful and perfect for anyone looking for a nice sweet summer scent. It’s a Sephora exclusive, rollerball-18, 1oz purse spray-45, and 1.7 oz-55
