For my go-to summer look, I normally lean towards a neutral eye with a bold lip! Here's how I did it step by step with all the products and brushes.
I always start with my eyes, move on to face, add blush, bronzer & highlighter. And then return to eyes.
Step 1: Eyes-- I first started by priming my lids with my favorite eyelid primer, Urban Decay's Primer Potion in the original version. Then used 3 shades out of Kat Von D's Ludwig palette. First with the second to last shade on the left, I used my elf shadow brush and applied the shade all over the lid. Next with my Mac #275 brush, I applied the matte brown, the last shade on the left side. I applied this to the outer third of the lid. I then went with the matte black and applied a bit of this on top of the matte brown to give the look a little more depth. Next I took my London Soho blending brush and blended this all out! I added the extra black because after blending, the brown wouldn't be enough contrast in my opinion. after, I cleaned up all the fallout under my eyes.
Step 2: Face-- Prior to appling my eye makeup, I had applied some embryolisse moisturizer, so I started this part with primer. I used Stila's one step illuminate which primes my skin, then gives it a glowy effect with some shimmer. Then I moved on to foundation. I used Benefit's hello flawless oxygen wow in the shade toasted beige. I pumped some on my hand and using an elf foundation brush, I applied some product on to my face and did some quick patting it. Then I came in with my real techniques expert face brush and blended my foundation out. I find that less product will get picked up by the RT brush if it is just used for blending. After foundation, I used the Dermablend quick fix concealer in tan and applied it to my under eye area. I used my real techniques foundation brush to blend it in. Then I set my whole face with my elf kabuki and the rimmel stay matte in translucent and then specifically set my concealer with the real techniques setting brush.
Step 3: Color products---First I bronzed up my face using the the hotel heiress bronzer and my bitten up Sonia Kashuk stippling brush. Then with my favorite Tarte blush brush, I applied some of the new Thebalm instain blush in the shade Toile. (This sucker is very pigmented!) Lastly, I followed with the Girl meets pearl highlighter with my Sephora I.T. stippling brush.
Step 4: Mascara and brows-- After my face, I returned to my eye area and curled my lashes with my favorite Sonia Kashuk curler, and applied a coat of Tarte's lights camera flashes. Then I moved on to my brows and used some clear brow gel from Chella and my Mac brow spoolie.
Step 6: Hair--- Starting with towel-dried hair, I sprayed some colour goddess leave in conditioner and brushed it out. Then I applied some healthy sexy hair soy renewal oil to my mid shaft and ends. The anything left was used to smooth out frizz. I've been trying to use as little heat as possible, so these products are a must to keep my hair manageable and healthy.
That's the final look! What do you think?
Heres a close up on the lipstick! The gloss just slightly tones down the brightness of the lipstick, making it wearable for an everyday look. I forgot to take a close up on the eyes. I promise I will next time!
