2014 Beauty Favorites

Since 2014 is now a thing of the past, its finally time for a recap of the year's biggest beauty hits. There has been many big releases and new product lines that have hit the shelves. Here are some of my favorite new, or new to me products that joined my rotation this past year.

Bases:

I can't say I had a favorite primer this year. I just used whatever I managed to grab first, but I found myself using my embryolisse lait-creme concentre more as a primer than just a moisturizer. As for foundation, I have completely fallen in love with the L'oreal True Match foundation. It has a medium coverage and sits well on my skin throughout the day. I've tried many concealers throughout the year. I had a hard time narrowing it down because I alternated so much. My most used would be the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer. I picked up the shade medium, and it has become my new favorite concealer for highlighting my undereye area, while still doing a great job at concealing my dark circles. Earlier this year, I really loved the Rimmel Match Perfection concealer. I really like this concealer for the purpose of highlighting certain areas of my face. The Wake Me Up has replaced it as a daily concealer, but both concealers are amazing finds at the drugstore.

Bronzers, Blushes and Highlights

For bronzer, my favorite from the year has to be Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder in Natural. It is the perfect shade for my skintone and warms up my skin perfectly, as well as being a great contour powder. My favorite blush of the year was Tarte's Amazonian Clay Blush in Charisma. It is a well pigmented, peachy-pink shade with minimal shimmer. It gives me a gorgeous glow without being too much. And for highlight, I really love Benefit Watts Up. It is the perfect champagne shade and the stick format allows for quick and precise application.

Eyes

Hands down, my favorite discovery has been Tarte's Lights Camera Flashes mascara. It lengthens and separates my lashes, and holds the curl better than most other mascaras I have tried. The best primer of the year was the Too Faced Shadow Insurance. Since I got the primer in may, I have almost always gravitated to using it. I am really impressed with the longevity of the product and how vibrant it makes my eyeshadows appear. As for shadows, I have been loving the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. I was a little late to jump on the chocolate bar bandwagon, but it has wowed me with the quality and the lovely scent. Lastly, Kat Von D's Tattoo liner in trooper is my new holy grail black eyeliner. The brush tip allows for precise application and crisp lines.

Lips

I've fallen in love with 3 lip products this year. One is Mac Girl About Town. I love this shade when I crave a bright pink, without having one that is too bright. When I do want something bright, I use Urban Decay Anarchy. Its a gorgeous, richly pigmented bright pink. And during the fall, I loved OCC lip tar in Strumpet as the perfect berry shade.
