Hey everyone a product review for you all! I love love love this setting powder from stila.
This setting powder has three different colors, peach, lavender and green. These three colors work together to illuminate, reduce sallow and reduce redness.
Pros and cons:
Lets start with the cons because there are many.
Cons:
- Price: This thing is expensive!!!! It retails for $36 for a .16 oz size. That's ridiculous. I can get way more product for a much lower price with other high end brands.
- Bulky- This takes up a ton of prime real estate in my foundation and powder drawer! And I would never carry this around with me on a daily basis.
- Messy- The one thing that makes this product cool also makes it a mess. If you don't make sure to tap out all the excess before closing, the left over grinded powder may spill around the sides.
- Claims- It doesn't really correct anything like Stila claims.
Pros:
- Claims: It may not do all the correcting it claims, but it does help a little with covering up some redness. So on days I feel like my cheeks are extra red, I will use this powder to set my foundation or TM
- Finely milled- The consistency of the powder is much finer than most powders on the market
- Novelty- Part of what drew me in was the fact that you can grind off what you need rather than tapping out some onto a lid. I feel like the grinding is a major improvement to tapping, but it still has its downside due to the fact that whatever is unused still makes a bit of a mess.
- Mirror- Even though the packaging is very bulky, it comes with a nice size mirror if you were to take it on the go. Since its too bulky to carry around, I tap the powder onto the mirror and swirl it on there.
Overall- I really like this setting powder, I think it does a really good job at setting my foundation without making it look cakey. It also does a good job at giving my foundation a little help with concealing some extra redness. I would use it more often except I don't think I would want to waste it because it would be expensive to replace.
What do you think? Would you buy this?
