Tarte Amazonian Clay 12- hr blushes

Okay, this post has been a long time coming... I have a million of these blushes and I love each and every shade. Okay, maybe not a million, bur 15 is still a lot!

I have a bunch and not all of these get used equally due to various reasons like shade, pigmentation, etc. To make it a bit easier, I'm going to rate each color I have on a scale of 1 to 5 depending on how much I think its worth picking up.

Basics:
- $26 and you can purchase they from Tartecosmetics.com
-They come in 15 permanent shades
-.20 ounces each
-They last all day. (they also leave a bit of a staining effect on your cheeks.

So here are some swatches and my thoughts about them.

Full Sized:

Glisten- Glisten is a gorgeous, very wearable light pink with a hint of golden shimmer to it. I love it as a great daily blush color. It really is a color you cannot go wrong with picking up for your blush wardrobe. (5 out of 5)

Flush- I picked this one up on black Friday from Ulta in one of their sets. It is a matte,
plummy fuchsia color. Don't get me wrong, I love this color, but it isn't one I reach for very often. As you can tell, I have a lot of options and my daily look leans more towards the natural side, so this rarely gets used. Its very pigmented, much more than the rest, so be careful when using it. (2 out of 5)

Achiote- This one I actually got in a set a while back. I did a mini review of it way back when I started this blog. Its a gorgeous peachy color that is completely matte. I love this for days when I just want a natural look. This is one of my favorites because its easy to use and flatters anyone.

Frisky- Frisky is a pretty pinky red shade, also with gold shimmer just like glisten. I really liked this shade in theory as a bolder form of glisten. In reality, it is a deeper shade, but a little too pigmented for daily use like Flush. I still use this once in a while, but no where as often as I would like to. I guess I'm more into a natural looking pinky blush. (3 out of 5)

Charisma- Charisma is interesting for me. Its one of my newer purchases and I chose this on a whim. I really like it, but i find its a little similar to others I already have. I came up with this idea, If you were to mix the color of achiote and add a hint of glisten, you would get Charisma. One might think that's a bad thing since I already have the two. But I really like that it is a shimmery version of achiote since I  love that color so much! Score! (5 out of 5)

Blushing Bride- I picked up Blushing bride for a few different reasons. The number one reason is because I was looking for a dupe of adventurous, one of my favorite minis. The closest I found was blushing bride. Its actually pretty similar, almost identical. Its a gorgeous plummy rose shade with golden shimmer that would look amazing on any complexion. The other reason is I always hear tarte raving about their blushing bride collection as an essential for any bride's makeup for their wedding day. Im not too sure I would wear it on my wedding day, but this would be perfect as a fall blush. I used adventurous religiously during the fall and it was perfect! (5 out of 5)

Dazzled- The color of Dazzled is a bit strange to me. It is described as a soft rose, but I don't see that. It looks like a light mauve color. Definitely not what I was expecting. I do like this color, but I wouldn't suggest it for anyone who has a skintone deeper than medium. (3 out 5)

Fearless- I picked up Fearless through the Tarte TSV in February. All I can say is I love it! I've been gravitating towards it rather than glisten or achiote! That in itself is a miracle! I would describe the color as a true pink with golden shimmer.

Shimmering Poppy- Shimmering poppy is the odd one out of the bunch. It isn't an Amazonian clay blush, but since I only have one, I thought I would toss it in. The line is called Airblush Maracuja blush. These are nice if you like cream blushes. I don't care for cream blushes because I find they are a bit messy when applying and it is very easy for me to over apply. But, this color is gorgeous for anyone who loves cream blushes. (must have for those who love cream blushes, pass for those who don't love creams)

Minis- Minis except for adventurous are .1 oz, half the size of a full sized blush

  • The first one is called Fantastic, a "soft fuschia" I think of this as a barbie pink blush. I really don't own a pink blush that is so deep in pigmentation and the color is quite shocking at first. I really like how pretty the color looks on the cheeks.
  • Second is Magic, a "peachy pink", that is a very close dupe to achiote or tipsy from the full-sized line. Its very wearable and a great everyday color for anyone. Its also matte, so its easy to sweep on a little bit and go.
  •
  •  Next is Angelic, a "shimmery champagne" To me, this color is the biggest let down. It is more like a highlighter than a blush. It is also a glittery shade, rather than a matte like the other 3. If you are looking for a good highlighter, then this maybe a good one for you.
  •
  • Last is Stellar, a "shimmering nude" I don't agree with this color description. Actually, its darker than my tarte park ave princess bronzer.... So I can see myself using this as a bronzer rather than a blush.
  •

Next are my last two minis. Adventurous is a gorgous plummy rose shade with golden shimmer. Like I said before, this is close to Blushing Bride. I lived off of this color during the fall last year after I picked it up in the carried away set! As you can tell by the photo, this color has gotten a lot of love. This blush is exclusive to the set, but you might be able to find it on eBay. The odd think about this blush is that it is .05 oz, and the other minis are .1 oz. If you can get your hands on it, do! (6 out of 5)!!!

Last is Dollface. This was my first Tarte blush and it certantly was not my last! I would say this is the perfect shade to wet you feet in tarte blushes. It matte and gorgeous! This shade is most often raved by beauty gurus and I can see why! Its pigmented, buttery and easy to blend. What else would you want from a matte blush? (5 out of 5)

What do you think? Which shade is your favorite??? ( My answer is all of them!)
