Tarte Fantastic Foursome 4-Piece Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush Enthusiast Set

Hey everyone! I know I have been MIA lately, but I have a new product to review! The tarte amazonian clay quad set.

Tarte - Fantastic Foursome 4-Piece Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush Enthusiast Set(stock photo from sephora.com)

I ordered this from sephora on friday night and just got it today! I prefer USPS priority mail since its quicker and more convienient for me.

I used my fan friday gift card on this purchase!

The retail value is $60, but it sells at sephora.com for $35. I believe it is also an exclusive to sephora. As of 10/3/12, the product is out of stock and it appears that it won't return for another 2 weeks.

So, what do you get in this set? Well, you get 4 mini blushes. Each blush is .1 oz. Not bad at all. Full-sized is is .2, so each one is half-sized.

Packaging- If you've never had a tarte mini blush, then a few things to note. All of these blushes are magnetic and can be easily depotted and put in something like a Z palette. Also, the minis dont have a mirror on the inner lid like the full sized, but that doesn't bother me since I dont plan to apply these on the go, but they could easily be thrown in a makeup bag.

What colors do you get?
  • The first color is called Angelic, a "shimmery champagne" To me, this color is the biggest let down. It is more like a highlighter than a blush. It is also a glittery shade, rather than a matte like the other 3. If you are looking for a good highlighter, then this maybe a good one for you.
  • The second one is called Fantastic, a "soft fuschia" I think of this as a barbie pink blush. I really don't own a pink blush that is so deep in pigmentation and the color is quite shocking at first. I really like how pretty the color looks on the cheeks.
  • Next is Magic, a "peachy pink", that is a very close dupe to achiote or tipsy from the full-sized line. Its very wearable and a great everyday color for anyone. Its also matte, so its easy to sweep on a little bit and go.
  • Last is Stellar, a "shimmering nude" I don't agree with this color description. Actually, its darker than my tarte park ave princess bronzer.... So I can see myself using this as a bronzer rather than a blush.
Verdict: Well, im in love with Magic and Fantastic. Still on the fence with Angelic since its a highlight shade and Stellar since its darker some of my bronzers. The pro I can see with Angelic and Stellar is that they are 12-hour blushes. The claim is that they are long lasting, which I agree with, 12-hours, maybe not. But it would be interesting to see how long they last compared to other products I use. Overall, I like these! And would suggest getting them once they are back in stock. They aren't the best value for tarte sets, but if you are a tarteaholic, or a blush hoarder like me, then this set will be perfect for you to try these amazing blushes for a good price. And don't worry about the size, hitting pan on blushes doesn't happen often, so these will last you a while. Really worth the price!
